Eligibility Criteria

Salary, Stipend and Benefits

Agniveer Vayu trainees will receive monthly pay with specified in-hand amounts and corpus contributions during the four-year engagement.

Additional benefits include risk & hardship allowances (as applicable), dress & travel allowances, ration, clothing, accommodation, LTC, life insurance of ₹48 Lakhs (non-contributory), and a Seva Nidhi package of approximately ₹10.04 Lakhs after four years. No gratuity or pensionary benefits are provided; no PF contribution is required.

Selection Process

The selection comprises a three-phase process: online test (CBT), ASC testing including physical and adaptability assessments, and medical examination conducted by the Air Force Medical Team.

Phase I – Online Test (CBT)

The CBT is bilingual (English & Hindi); marking scheme and stream-wise duration and subjects are specified below.

Marking: +1 for correct, 0 for unattempted, -0.25 for wrong. Normalisation will be applied across sessions.

Phase II – ASC Testing (State-wise Shortlisting)

  • Adaptability Test-I (Objective) and Adaptability Test-II (as per policy).

PFT standards:

  • PFT-I: 1.6 km run — Male: <= 7 min; Female: <= 8 min.

  • PFT-II (Female): 10 Sit-ups (1 min 30 sec), 15 Squats (1 min).

Phase III – Medical Examination

Final medical examination is conducted by the Air Force Medical Team and includes labs, X-ray, ECG and other required tests; an Appeal Medical Board is available for a fee of ₹40.

Medical and General Standards

Candidates must meet minimum medical and general standards as part of eligibility and final selection criteria.
